MICROBLADING

1. How long will my Microblading or Microshading appointment be?

Your first appointment will take approximately 2-3 hours, though generally it is closer to 2, it is best to book yourself enough time in case it goes over.  This is not something you want to rush…  Your touch up appointment 4-8 weeks later is usually done in 1.5-2 hours

2. How long does it last?

Results do vary depending on your skin type and lifestyle, in most cases the results last 1-2 years.

3. Will I need more than one touch-up?

Occasionally some people do require a second touch up procedure, this is generally due to having an oilier skin type, a very sparse natural brow, from not following after care instructions thoroughly or skin that is a bit more resistant to accepting brow pigment.

4. Does Microblading hurt?

No, because I use a numbing agent twice during the session, the majority of my clients report not feeling a thing.  Some have even fallen asleep and said it was very relaxing.  Rarely the odd client does not numb well and has stated that it is a little bit uncomfortable and related it to cat scratches.

5. What should I avoid so my Microbladed brows do not fade quickly?

Immediately after your session and for two weeks you need to avoid getting your brows too wet, no sweating, saunas, hot tubs, salt water, steamy showers etc.  Also, it’s very important to avoid sun exposure, any products containing Aloe, Retinoids or Retinol, AHAs, Glycolic Acids.  To prevent infection, for one week after you also need to avoid the use of makeup near the brows, this includes foundations and powders, brow pencils and powders.  The brow area needs to be treated like any wound, you need to keep it very clean and allow it to breath.

After your brows have healed you need to continue avoiding sun exposure by applying SPF, as well as avoiding the products listed above as they will fade the tattoo.

PROCELL MICROCHANNELING TREATMENT

1. What is Microchanneling?

Microchanneling is a non-invasive procedure designed to stimulate your body’s own natural ability to generate collagen, elastin, and other building blocks of healthy skin. By stimulating the outermost layers of the skin, microchanneling can help your body start this process

2. Why is ProCell better than other similar treatments?

Microchanneling is a non-invasive procedure designed to stimulate your body’s own natural ability to generate collagen, elastin, and other building blocks of healthy skin. By stimulating the outermost layers of the skin, microchanneling can help your body start this process

3. Does it hurt?

Not at all.  The application of numbing cream helps to assure that you will experience little if any discomfort. Post-procedure, most people report a “tight” feeling in their skin, similar to a mild wind/sun burn, lasting a few hours to a day or two

4. Is there downtime?

There is no downtime with this procedure.  You can apply makeup, sunblock and other topicals within 90 minutes of the service.  Although, it is always best to allow your face the entire day to reap all the benefits from the serum used during your treatment.

5. How will my face look immediately after treatment?

You may experience anything from a minor redness, to a deep flush, which clears up within 3-72 hours depending on how sensitive and fair your skin is

6. Who can do this treatment?

As ProCell microchanneling treatments are minimally invasive, they are safe for all skin types. Whether you are fair-skinned or dark, and even if you experience chronic breakouts, properly conducted microchanneling treatments will not result in hyperpigmentation, keloid scars, or other lasting negative side effects

7. What is the serum?

ProCell’s Microchannel Delivery Serum contains bone marrow-derived growth factors in a hyaluronic acid suspension. Both of these elements are naturally-occurring in the human body. There are no human, animal, or plant cells, DNA, blood, or any other foreign substances.  The product has been used safely and effectively for over a decade

8. What will ProCell improve the appearance of?

Microchanneling treatments can improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, tone and texture, enlarged pores, hyperpigmentation (brown/age spots), acne scarring, stretch marks, rosacea and hair thinning/loss

9. If my skin is irritated after can I use moisturizer?

It is normal for treatments to result in some skin irritation, especially for clients with more sensitive skin.  Always wait a minimum of 90 minutes before putting anything else on the skin.  During this time, it is normal for the skin to remain pink or light red.  After the 90 minutes you can apply additional moisturizer or other products.  Keep in mind however, that as your skin may be more sensitive than usual for several days after the treatment, strong topicals should be avoided until the skin returns to normal

10. How long before I can expect to see results?

Though neocollagenesis (the production of new collagen) can take several weeks, it is common to notice an improvement in the quality and appearance of your skin within the first 24 hours.  After 2-3 treatments a thicker more robust, collagen filled cellular matrix will produce more consistent and noticeable improvements.  4 sessions are the usual recommendation for optimum results, but 6 or more treatments may be necessary for excessive scarring, laxity and wrinkles.

For hair regrowth some reactivation typically appears within the first two weeks, with noticeable improvement at the 5 week mark.

11. How long do I have to wait in between treatments?

It is best to wait 3-4 weeks in between appointments for the skin, and it is recommended to do hair treatments weekly, for a minimum of 5 weeks

12.  Are there any contraditctions?

If you have any underlying condition that significantly impairs your immune system, it is a good idea to avoid microchanneling.  Examples include but are not limited to active radiation or chemotherapy, uncontrolled diabetes, chronic inflammatory skin disease, Accutane in the past 2 years, hemophilia or similar bleeding disorder.  Also, anyone with stainless steel allergies should not do this treatment.

We also discourage treatments for those who are pregnant or nursing

13.  Do you use the Microchanelling Solution/Aftercare Serums?

Microchanneling stimulates the body to release peptides, cytokines and growth factors that induce collagen production.  As you get older, the stem cells that produce these vital proteins lose efficacy and decline in population.  Because of premature aging, the Microchannel Delivery Serum and the post care Cellular Renewal Serum and Healing Accelerator Serum become more vital to the skin’s improvement.

Use of the ProCell aftercare products ensure the skin continuously receives potent, robust, pristine peptides, cytokines and growth factors even in between treatments. Think of diet and exercise – microchanneling without serums is like exercising without dieting.  Results can be good with microchanneling only, but are significantly improved with serums

DERMAPLANING

1. What is Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is a form of gentle exfoliation that uses light, feathery strokes and a sterile- surgical blade. Dermaplaning removes dead, surface skin cells, as well as vellus hairs (AKA peach fuzz) from the face.  It is an alternative to Microdermabrasion and Chemical Peels.

2. What are the benefits of Dermaplaning?

There are numerous, some of which include; deeper product penetration, promotes the production of collagen and elastin resulting in fewer fine lines and wrinkles, reduces the appearance of brown spots, immediately the skin is more radiant and youthful, removes peach fuzz which traps dirt and oils, makeup glides on and appears smoother, no down-time, painless.

3. Who is not a good candidate of Dermaplaning?

Anyone with excessively oily skin, or who has active cystic acne.  Clients with multiple raised lesions, as well as anyone with an allergy to nickel.

4. Is Dermaplaning safe?

Absolutely, as long as it is performed by a properly trained, licensed and certified esthetician.

5. How often can I have Dermaplaning done?

It is recommended to wait 4-6 weeks in between treatments.

6. What can I expect the day of my treatment?

Your appointment will run between 30-60 minutes.  The procedure itself is painless and requires no down time.  You will be able to apply your make-up immediately afterwards.  The use of a high sunscreen (SPF 30 or more) is highly recommended.

7.  Will my facial hair grow back thicker or darker?

No, this is not possible as the vellus hairs that are removed are a much finer hair type than that of our other body hair.  The follicle and hair type will not be affected, it will grow in the same as it did before.
